For every wedding, there is a budget.  From small to large, it can be an extraordinary feat to plan a wedding within the parameters you have given yourself (or your parents have handed over).  I see brides and grooms every week who are tearing their hair out over how to achieve the wedding they want with the money they have.   It is a difficult process for many.

A wedding coordinator can help immensely when it comes to your wedding budget.  Today I share with you one of my favorite tips in wedding budgeting: The Top Five.

A gorgeous centerpiece using a pumpkin.  Who knew?

You do not have to do traditional floral centerpieces to make an impression at your wedding reception.  Maybe your budget does not allow for elaborate arrangements, or perhaps you are looking for something different or unique.  Here I have gathered up some neat ideas to keep you in the loop about your options.

Is it in you?

Although it is not the latest trend, bridal boleros are still holding their own as a wedding accessory.  Some houses of worship require brides and their bridal parties to cover their shoulders, which is where a bolero can come in handy.  That way you can still purchase the strapless gown you desire, and have a few different looks for pictures.  Other brides want them just because they look fabulous--and there is nothing wrong with that!

Boleros look great any time of year--try a faux fur bolero for a winter or spring wedding, a lace or taffeta one will be perfect for the summer months.

I've collected some of my favorite ones here.

Have you thought of having your wedding envelopes addressed by a calligrapher?  This lovely art form is perfect for weddings; its formality and elaborateness is suited for unique gatherings such as weddings.  The invitation is the first thing which will set the tone of the event.  Calligraphy can--and does--add something extra to your invitations.

Allow me to introduce you to Jennifer Cota of Pretty Pen Jen, who has done calligraphy for weddings for over six years, and is as popular as ever.  Her work in flawless.  Her turnaround time of two weeks amazes, and her customer service is impeccable.  Pretty Pen Jen has been profiled on the fashionable blogs Snippet & Ink, The Bride's Cafe, and Little White Book.  Her work has also been featured in the magazine Weddings Unveiled.

Today I am listing my Favorite Things, Part Two.

Part Two has a New York City twist.  My Dad grew up in New York, so my first taste of the Big Apple was traveling there when I was little.  Later, I was lucky to attend college and grad school in New York.  Without a doubt, my years at Fordham University were some of the best in my life.

Being back on the west coast the last four years, I know it is where I am truly meant to be.  But here are some of my favorite things from my New York City days.

This year the designers took our breath away with light and airy wedding gowns.  These gowns have a luscious combination of light fabrics and soft construction, dresses which will feel soft against your skin.  In a gown like this, you will float down the aisle in softly radiant glamour.

For 2010, the designers have gone beyond the traditional white or ivory (although these are still available in most collections) and into nude and soft pinks.  Many of these gowns feature intricate beading, softly pulled bows, and lace.  These gown styles will compliment many styles of weddings, from traditional and formal to casual or beachside weddings.

I have added descriptions where I could find them.
