Today we take a look at Bridesmaid's Fashions. Although there are no hard and fast rules, it is helpful to consider selecting the bridesmaid's dresses after you have chosen your bridal gown, and your wedding date is set. Once your gown is chosen, you may coordinate the wedding party fashion. With your wedding date set, you may take in to account the temperature and location of the wedding.
I suggest starting your search online. Various bridal shops and national chains such as J.Crew, Nordstrom, David's Bridal, and Ann Taylor have online bridal boutiques were you can begin perusing appropriate bridesmaid fashions. Once you have a color and style in mind, you may want to take your bridesmaids with you to few shops to see how you and they like particular dresses.

Tips for Bridesmaid Fashion Success
- Consider the Cost. Most bridesmaid dresses run between $100-300. There are plenty of options to be found between $100-150. If you have your heart set on something north of $300, you may want to cover the difference. Remember, your maids will be spending money on lots of items besides the dress: the shoes, their undergarments, a gift for you, their travel expenses to the wedding, etc.
- Classic Colors. Darker dresses such as navy and black have staying power and can easily be worn again by your maids. Don't let a summer wedding deter you from choosing a darker color theme. It's perfectly fine to have dark bridesmaid dresses any time of year.
- Be Kind. Trust me, sheath gowns do not look good on every body. Be careful to select a gown which will flatter all the figures of your bridal party. Some brides opt for a certain color and dress length, and let their maids choose the neckline. In fact, many bridal stores such as David's Bridal and J. Crew cater to this idea. It's worth looking into.
- Start Early. Many bridesmaids will need their dresses altered, which can be a time-consuming venture. Do not wait until the last minute. You want to give your bridesmaids plenty of time to order their dresses, have them delivered, and get fitted.
