South Bay, Los Angeles
I thought a post about Los Angeles and Orange County would be fitting, since I am in the area for several weeks now. Ahh, the sunshine and palm tress, I just cannot get enough! In this third, and certainly not final, installment of my Favorite Things, I'm bringing it to you LA and OC style.
Every Summer we would travel to Balboa Island in Newport Beach for a family vacation. Most Christmases were spent in Pasadena. One summer I took courses at Pasadena City College. I first started Elizabeth Ann Events in Pasadena. So, there are lots of favorite things from LA.

Balboa Island
Since age five we would vacation at Balboa Island each summer. Sometimes it was a week, sometimes three, but we always managed to have a great time. The spot pictured above, Dad's, is a favorite stop for a frozen banana or Balboa Bar. Paul popped the question on Balboa Island. It's definitely a special place.

Crate & Barrel
Before Crate and Barrel came to Oregon, the only one I knew of was on Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. Every day after Christmas, without fail, we would wake at the crack of dawn and shop our hearts out at their After Christmas Sale. I started my Christmas ornament collection with them, and my love affair continues. Some of our favorite wedding gifts were purchased at Crate and Barrel. It continues to be one of my favorite stores for decorating.

The Getty Museum
Love the view, love the buildings, the garden, the museum, everything! It is completely worth the parking fee. I can spend several hours there, and I always feel relaxed and recharged upon my departure.
Hi Life Burger
A Favorite Things list would not be complete without a few of my greasy spoon favs. Hi Life Burger has incredible burritos, chili fries, and yes, burgers. My family and I adore the crushed ice they use in their fountain drinks. It's the little things, right?

Huntington Library and Gardens
I love to stroll the grounds and explore the lovely museums. Did you hear you can now get married at Huntington Gardens? For the low low price of just $100,000.

Pasadena Sandwich Company
What a delicious spot this is. Great mile-high sandwiches, excellent potato and macaroni salad too. Yum!
