Dress

Finding the perfect wedding gown can be an exciting and equally daunting task. You may have the complete vision in your mind, or you may be like many brides, having little or no idea what you want. Never fear—here are some tips and hints to get you started.

Go During the Week

Try to take some time off during the week to visit a bridal salon.  You’ll get more personal attention and advice than on a Saturday afternoon.  If that is not possible, it may help to call the salon ahead of time and make an appointment.  That way you know you will get the help you need.

Shop Around

Give yourself time to visit a few different stores.  You may be surprised at what you find at the second or third salon!  If you start the search early, you won’t have to cram several salons into a few weekends.  Take your time so you won’t become overwhelmed.

Count Your Pennies

It’s not just the gown—remember that you’ll likely be purchasing undergarments, shoes, jewelry, and veil too.  Calculate this into the main figure you are aiming for in your budget.

Let the Professionals Work

When visiting a salon, ask the salesperson for advice on the latest trends, fabrics, and styles.  Give her an idea of the look you are going for and let her select a few gowns for you.  You never know, you may end up loving it!
